The Sun Will Rise Again

Hi everyone! We all know these are tough times and the second wave and the new strain of Covid-19 is really dangerous. We all need to take double care of ourselves. Though, by the way, I was seriously like, "Wasn't 2020 enough? 🙄". But if we look back at 2020, I think we all did a great job as a nation. Though we made mistakes, I think we can learn from them, can't we? If we just wear a mask, follow proper hygiene and sanitization, stay at home, and basically be responsible citizens, we can save many lives. But, apart from this, mental health is also important. Staying optimistic and hopeful is really crucial in these struggling times. Therefore, here is a poem I wrote: The Sun Will Rise Again, which will help y'all to look back at 2020, our struggles, but also at how we made it through. If we fought Covid last year, we can fight it this time as well, no matter how hard it might be. Staying united and positive is the need of the hour. Let's trust God, stay strong, hopeful, united, and let's stay at home. ❤️

November 2019 it was,

When I first heard of Covid.

My teacher used to tell me stories,

Of how Chinese people dealt with it.

I thought of it as a flu,

Which would have a limitation.

But I didn't know it would spread so fast,

Which would put so many restrictions.

Okay, then 2020 came into the picture,

And Jan and Feb were quite bearable.

But the March's covid condition and lockdown,

Made our lives really miserable.

On 19th I planned to visit my relative,

But on 22 came the first-ever curfew.

Then on 24 came the first-ever lockdown,

And China being cursed and empty unusual roads became the daily view.

Furthermore, Covid started spreading rapidly,

Flights and trains didn't work.

But people suddenly started cooking dishes,

That the boring lockdown, now became a perk!

Everything became fully online,

It all seemed abnormal.

This was something we hadn't even imagined,

But this became the new normal.

And not only Covid troubled us in 2020.

Forest fires, "Black Lives Matter" riots, and also the locust plague.

The loss of lives, like Kobe Bryant's tragic death,

And in blasts and in Turkey's earthquake.

2020 Olympics and school exams,

All being canceled was a grave shock.

Economy and GDP stooped down low,

And the only solution to feed people was to start the "Unlock".

People had become, and are still jobless,

All were and are mentally disturbed.

Resources are now decreasing,

The second wave has also started, and it's not getting curbed.

But going back, somehow the cases decreased near winter,

And people started going out again.

We all became less scared,

And traveled around freely again.

And now we are again at homes,

Because of our mistakes.

New strains and waves are there,

And now more lives are at stake.

Resources are less,

And we need more aid and help.

Maybe 3rd wave is ready too.

We need to save ourselves.

People struggled for medicines,

And the struggle's not gone.

Graveyards are full,

But the black marketing is still on.

I know we made mistakes,

But after all, it's not too late.

We can still save lives,

It can still be set straight.

2020 was a challenge,

This year is one too.

But being a little smart and responsible,

Can pull us all through.

Wearing a mask, sanitizing our hands,

Maintaining a distance all the time.

Being smart and alert and letting others know,

Can prove beneficial for all of us, in these difficult times.

We all fought Covid in 2020,

And we all were very brave.

We were, and are in this together,

Let's stop every wave from getting more grave.

Let's stop the mass spread of Covid,

And let's stay at homes.

We've come a long way together, folks,

So why can't we wait more?

This time, 'tis a bigger challenge,

We'll have to give a tougher fight.

And one day the sun will rise again, my friends,

And everything will be alright...

  1. How awesome is this. Everything will most certainly be alright...it's also the darkest before the dawn. We must continue to do what we have learnt the hard way and must never let our guard down. You keep writing more of that awesome stuff. xx
